SsangYong Rexton CSE refreshed for 2016

SsangYong’s Rexton CSE is now available with an upgraded 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine.

Competing in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) sector, the Rexton's newly developed e-XDi220 turbo diesel engine's power has been increased to 178ps with maximum torque up to 400Nm, delivered from a low of 1,400rpm and maintained through a wide range up to 2,800rpm for ‘smooth, progressive’ driving. CO2 emissions have been reduced to 184g/km, while fuel economy is also improved, at up to 40.4mpg on the combined cycle.

Meanwhile, the cabin has been given a refreshed new look. Aluminium-effect and chrome finishes along with soft-touch materials result in a modern and comfortable environment, yet one that SsangYong says will prove extremely practical in everyday use. The ‘comprehensive level’ of standard equipment also includes cruise control, air conditioning, electrically operated windows & heated door mirrors, leather covered steering wheel and gear knob, and CD & RDS radio with iPod and Bluetooth connectivity.

At the rear there’s a completely flat load area, accessed via a high lifting tailgate and two side doors, packing a useful 2.2 cubic metre load volume. There’s a load deck length of 1,700cm, and 107cm between the wheel arches while the CSE 'willingly pulls a 3 tonne trailer'. Using a body on frame construction for maximum strength, it also features double wishbone and coil spring suspension at the front, and a five link rigid axle with coil springs at the rear.

The Rexton 2.2 CSE also includes active safety features - from Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Active Rollover Protection, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Hill Descent Control to dual front and side air bags.

Prices start from £19,495 OTR (ex VAT).
