The 2016 FIA Ladies European Rally Champion, Catie Munnings, has been announced as the latest brand ambassador for Peugeot UK.
And the Rally Champions' first job in her ambassador role is to help Peugeot launch its new sporty 208 Black Edition.
The new 208 Black Edition features fresh exterior styling options and is available in three paint colours; Nera Black, Bianca White and Hurricane Grey. Running on 16” Titane gloss black alloy wheels with white laser engraving, the new model also has an equaliser grille with gloss black finisher and gloss black door mirror shells with colour accents.
Powered by the 1.2L PureTech 82 petrol engine, the new 208 Black Edition offers ‘sprightly’ performance and 62.8 MPG combined. Stepping inside, there is a 7” multifunction colour touchscreen alongside DAB Digital radio; Bluetooth, CarPlay, MirrorLink & Android Auto connectivity.
In 2016, Munnings, aged 18, became the first female British driver to win a European Rally title in almost half a century, piloting her Peugeot 208 R2 to success as part of the Saintéloc Junior Rally Team. The rising star only started her racing career at the end of 2015, but managed to go on and win her maiden title by racing at Ypres in Belgium and Liepaja in Latvia, collecting enough points in the remainder of the season to be crowned champion.
She said: “I’m very excited to kick start my next chapter with Peugeot. There are some exciting projects in the pipeline that I‘m thrilled to be a part of. I think the Peugeot 208 Black Edition is a brilliant car too. It looks and feels great and I really think its sporting appeal sets it apart – its basically any young person’s dream car!”
